llms.txt is a new file in the root directory of a website that provides language models (LLMs) with a structured summary of the website in Markdown. AI systems can use it to immediately understand the context of a brand without parsing the entire HTML.

Which AI bots should I allow in robots.txt?

The most important AI bots are: GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot (OpenAI/ChatGPT), ClaudeBot and anthropic-ai (Anthropic/Claude), Google-Extended (Google Gemini Training), PerplexityBot (Perplexity AI), Bingbot (Bing/Copilot) and Applebot-Extended (Apple Intelligence). §1 Who We Are

We provide a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) checker tool for website operators and creators.

§2 Data We Collect

When you use the snaff.ai checker we process the URL you submit to perform the GEO analysis. We store: the URL, hostname, page title, score, grade, and timestamp of the check. No personal account data is required to use the tool. If you contact us via email, we store your name, email address, and message.

§3 Legal Basis (GDPR)

Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) for core features. Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security and service improvement. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where requested. Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) where required.

§4 How We Use Data

URL checks and analysis, anonymous statistics (heatmap, top checked domains), transactional emails if you request a report, and security monitoring. We never sell or share your data for marketing.

§5 Cookies & Storage

One first-party session cookie — HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure on HTTPS. No third-party ad or tracking cookies.

§6 Data Sharing

Hosting provider for infrastructure. The GEO analysis is performed entirely server-side; no data is sent to third-party services except the URL itself which is fetched by our server for analysis.

§7 Retention

Search records: indefinite (for statistics and ranking). If we introduce user accounts: account data retained for the active account lifetime. Post-deletion: all personal data removed within 30 days.

§8 Your Rights

Access (Art. 15), Rectification (Art. 16), Erasure (Art. 17), Restriction (Art. 18), Portability (Art. 20), Objection (Art. 21). We respond within 30 days.

§9 Security

HTTPS/TLS, bcrypt for any stored passwords, CSRF protection, session isolation, regular security reviews.

§10 Children

snaff.ai is not for persons under 16. Contact us to remove any accidentally collected child data.

§11 Changes

Material changes announced by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
