What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the optimization of content for AI-powered answer systems. The goal is to help systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini understand an offer correctly, assess it as trustworthy, and consider relevant content in their answers.

Does GEO replace classic SEO?

No. GEO complements SEO. Sound technology, helpful content, clear information architecture, and brand trust remain the foundation. GEO additionally emphasizes machine-readable entities, direct answers, sources, and clear authorship.

What does the snaff GEO Checker check?

The checker reviews bot accessibility, robots.txt, structured data, llms.txt and ai.txt, meta information, semantic HTML, E-E-A-T signals, and content citability. The score is guidance, not a promise of rankings or mentions by an AI system.

Which actions usually have the greatest impact?

Start with accessible, indexable pages. Then add clear structured data, author and freshness information, and precise passages that answer questions directly. The best sequence depends on your audit findings and business model.
